Pregunta Should stay away from Cartagena?

I don't know how to feel about this? Any locals hear anything? I would be afraid to even talk to a girl of risk of being shook down or even worse. I'm not an asshole and very respectful of the culture. I feel tourist that "make it rain" and act disrespectful ruin it for the rest of us. What's your thoughts?

This is good for the locals. Keeps the gringos away which will lower cost lol.

This situation is quite complex. I mean, sex tourism has existed since so many years... Police and politicians are trying to "rebuild" Cartagena's name avoiding those activities.
For now I would recommend to be discrete, in order to stay away from troubles. There are some girls which work in hotels and private houses.
